Acts 1:8 says, "But you shall receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you; and you shall be witnesses to Me in Jerusalem, and in all Judea and Samaria, and to the end of the Earth." Do you feel like you operate in the power of God? The Bible tells us that as believers the Holy Spirit gives us power; and, not just any power, but the power to be a witness for Him. So many times we are plagued with fear when it comes to being a light for Jesus. We think less of ourselves because we don't know the right scriptures or we can't talk about the Bible like the sister or brother at church. But the Word of God tells us that we, as Christians, have been given the POWER to be witnesses. Yes, God has given YOU power. So how do we receive this power? Do we close our eyes and wait to "feel the power"? Do we go to church and have the pastor or one of the minsters lay hands on us so we can "receive the power". No, we must walk by faith knowing that God has already "given us the power". Ooops, I said it.....Faith. Yes, the word that so baffles us for faith is the substance of things hoped for and the evidence of things not seen (Heb. 11:1). I know that it doesn't make any "sense"....substance that is only hoped for and evidence that is not seen - Help me Lord. But, I can't get around faith because it is the foundation of the Christian walk. By faith we must believe, and know, and walk in the power of God that has been given to us. So what does that mean practically? It means Walk Like You Know. What do I mean? Walk like you know you have the power of God and watch the power of God manifest in your life. Walk like you know Jesus is with you when you want to tell others about Him. Walk like you know the Holy Spirit has given you some spiritual ammunition. Walk like you know! It is when we walk by faith that the evidence of things not seen become seen - BUT - you must walk by faith. So, I say all this to remind you that you, child of God, have been given Power to be a witness for Jesus. Walk by faith in this power and watch the people around you begin to take steps closer to Christ. I double dog dare you.
